BREAKING: American Idol Canceled After Upcoming 15th Season

This morning, Monday, May 11th, 2015 we're learning that after season 15 of American Idol will be ending according to FOX ahead of their upfront.

According to FOX, AMERICAN IDOL will begin its 15th – and final – season this January on FOX. A season-long celebratory event, AMERICAN IDOL XV will feature host Ryan Seacrest and judges Jennifer Lopez, Keith Urban and Harry Connick, Jr., as they search for the final IDOL superstar and pay tribute to the past 14 seasons of amazingly talented contestants and the millions of fans who tweeted, texted and championed their IDOLs.

“American Idol,” one of the most popular and dominant reality shows to appear on television but one that has been on the wane for several years, will end after its 15th season concludes in 2016, according to New York Times.

Past 'American Idol' winners are Kelly Clarkson, Carrrie Underwood, Ruben Studdard, Taylor Hicks, Jordin Sparks, David Cook, Kris Allen, Lee DeWyze, Scotty McCreery, Phillip Phillips, Candice Glover, Caleb Johnson and to be determined your season fourteen winner.
