FLASHBACKS TO THE 1960s - Stefan (Paul Wesley) tries to distract Elena (Nina Dobrev) from obsessing about the state of her relationship with Damon (Ian Somerhalder), while Bonnie (Kat Graham) does her best to be realistic about how the changes happening on the Other Side will affect her existence as the Anchor. Damon demands the Traveler knife, forcing Jeremy (Steven R. McQueen) and Matt (Zach Roerig) to admit it has gone missing. "The Vampire Diaries" Episode "Stand By Me" Premieres Tonight February 21st

Fans of the hit CW series "The Vampire Diaries" will be able to enjoy an all new episode tonight at 8pm entitled "Stand By Me", the terrible truth. In this latest episode of "The Vampire Diaries", When Stefan arrives back in Mystic Falls with Elena and Jeremy, Caroline is immediately worried about Elena’s state of mind. Stefan reaches out to Dr. Fell (guest star Torrey DeVitto) and Matt for help. Still on the island, Damon relays somber news to Rebekah, and is surprised at her reaction. Together, Damon and Rebekah learn an unexpected bit of recent history from Vaughn (guest star Charlie Bewley). Everyone is horrified when Bonnie reveals the rest of Shane’s (guest star David Alpay) plan. Finally, after Damon does his best to help her, Elena comes up with a plan of her own. Lance Anderson directed the episode written by Julie Plec.
