Los Angeles, California - Twelve year old actress Merit Leighton looked super adorable on the blue carpet with friends wearing a colorful top and jeans with black shoes for the Los Angeles premiere of 'Dolphin Tale 2' held at Regency Village Theatre on September 7, 2014 in Westwood, California.

Merit is twelve years old, but she’s a seasoned veteran, having booked many national commercials including Legal Shield, Purina Cat Chow, Pop Tarts, Target, Kmart, Yoplait and more. Most recently Merit worked on the hit show The New Normal and the Feature Film "Resident Advisor" playing the role of Meredith and has just finished providing the voice for the character Lucinda the Witch for Disney's "Sophia The First". She also appeared in the short film "Monster Slayer" for the USA network and RSA Films, a web series "Zimm The Series" as young Zimm. She plays Emma in the soon to be released Indie feature “Grooming Giselle” and a short film called “Specifically” directed by George Newbern.
