PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Brown field hockey freshmen Maddie Ayles (Westwood, Mass.), Emma Caviness (Stow, Mass.) and Ellie Seid
(Larchmont, N.Y.) were named ZAG Field Hockey/NFHCA Division I Scholars
of Distinction in an announcement by the National Field Hockey Coaches
Association on Wednesday. To qualify for the award, the student-athletes
achieved a cumulative GPA of 3.90 or higher through the first semester
of the 2015-16 academic year.

In addition, 14 Bears were also named to the ZAG Field Hockey/NFHCA
Collegiate National Academic Squad. The National Academic Squad
recognizes student-athletes who have achieved a cumulative GPA of 3.30
or higher through the first semester of the 2015-16 academic year.
Senior Emily Arciero (Avon, Conn.), Ayles, junior Brooke Bonfiglio (Bronxville, N.Y.), Caviness, junior Lucy Green (Providence, R.I.), freshman Carly Kabelac (Potomac, Md.), sophomore Katherine Kallergis (Lake Forest, Ill.), senior Alexis Miller (Caldwll, N.J.), sophomore Maggie Mostoller (Hummelstown, Pa.), sophomore Emma Quigley (Hopewell, N.J.), senior Hannah Rogers (Los Altos, Calif.), sophomore Alexa Scala (Rumford, R.I.), Seid and sophomore Ashley Waldron (East Walpole, Mass.) accomplished the honor.

As a team, Brown earned the ZAG Field Hockey/NFHCA Division I National Academic Team Award for a 3.0 or higher team GPA.
