Men’s Golf: Kirby Repeats as New England PGA Champion

BRISTOL, R.I. – Roger Williams University Head Men's Golf Coach Ed Kirby took home his second consecutive New England PGA Championship on Thursday, finishing the three-round tournament with a 216 (+3).

The tournament, hosted at the Bay Club at Mattapoisett.  The Par 71 course saw Kirby shoot a 70 for the opening round, ahead of a pair of 73s in rounds two and three, closing the tournament three over par.

The Roger Williams University Men's Golf team will begin its season on Monday, Sept. 8, at the Warrior Invitational hosted by Eastern Connecticut State at the Mohegan Sun Golf Club in Baltic, Conn. The win marks Kirby's third New England PGA Championship win.
