PROVIDENCE, R.I. - The Brown field hockey team was defeated by Quinnipiac, 2-0, in a non-conference contest on Monday afternoon at Goldberger Family Field.
Neither team could create a solid scoring chance in the first half, as the teams entered the break tied 0-0. Brown and Quinnipiac both registered three shots in the stanza, while the Bobcats had four penalty corners to the Bears' one.
Quinnipiac's (3-10) Dayna Barlow broke the scoreless tie at 41:40 of the second. Savanna Reilly started the play when she carried the ball on the end line and slipped it by sophomore goalie Katie Hammaker (Ephrata, Pa.) to Barlow, who then knocked it in for a 1-0 lead.
The Bobcats added to their lead at 54:23 when Angie King brought the score to 2-0 with her goal.
Overall, Brown (6-4) ended up claiming the shot lead 9-7 in the contest. Quinnipiac held the

"Today was disappointing," said head coach Jill Reeve. "Our performance lacked the cohesion and intensity we've come to expect. We'll have to bring that and more in our upcoming matches."
The Bears next hit the road to take on No. 12 Princeton on Saturday, Oct. 15 for a 12:00 p.m. game.
