No. 8 Women's Crew Sweeps All Five Races at No. 16 Radcliffe

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. –  No. 8 Brown University women's crew swept all five races from No. 16 Radcliffe on Saturday morning on the Charles River, taking the first, second, and third varsity eight races as well as the A and B varsity four events.
The Bears improved to 20-8 in the all-time dual race series against Radcliffe – the women's crew program at Harvard – and defeated the Black & White for the 10th straight time in dual competition.
Opening the day with the first varsity eight Brown clocked in with a time of 6:52.4, edging Radcliffe (6:55.0) by 2.6 seconds.
In the second varsity eight, the Bears finished in a time of 6:58.6, topping the Black & White (7:01.9) by 3.3 seconds.
Closing out the NCAA events, the Bears' A varsity four came in with a time of 7:34.9, beating the hosts (7:46.5) by 11.6 seconds.
In the B varsity four race, Brown registered a time of 7:54.5 defeating Radcliffe's B varsity four (8:07.6) by 11.1 seconds and the hosts' C varsity four (8:49.8) by 55.3 seconds.
Closing out the day with the third varsity eight, Brown's third varsity eight (7:12.1) bested Radcliffe (7:29.0) by 16.9 seconds. The Bears' fourth varsity eight (7:16.4) topped the Black & White's 3V8 by 12.6 seconds.
Next, Brown races at the Lake Natoma Invitational in Gold River, Calif., from Saturday, Apr. 14 to Sunday, Apr. 15. The LNI field includes No. 2 California, No. 10 Stanford, Notre Dame, Alabama, Gonzaga, San Diego, and host Sacramento State.
