Free event for People of All Ages
Pawtucket – The Pawtucket School Committee and the School Department will be hosting Get Healthy Pawtucket Day 2019. The annual event will be held on Saturday, April 27, 2019 from 10am to 2pm at the Slater Mill Courtyard.
“The School Committee is proud to sponsor the free annual Get Health Pawtucket Day for our students and residents,” said School Committee Chair Jay Charbonneau. “This is a great opportunity for everyone to learn about health in a family friendly environment while having fun. We welcome all to this event as there are many activities for children of all ages and adults.”
Community partners will be collaborating to showcase a number of wellness initiatives in the city. Being headed by the Pawtucket School Committee’s Wellness Subcommittee, the event will welcome over 35 separate stations and activities.
The event will consist of numerous activities throughout the day for all ages including:
· Pawtucket Fire Department “Touch a Truck”
· URI Gardeners: Bring your garden soil to be tested
· Police Department “Prescription Take Back” Box and visits from the K9 Officers
· Face Painting by Mrs. Gamache and the Met School
· Free Massages and Yoga by Miladys Le Blanc
· Tinkerbell and Wendy Certified Therapy Dogs
· 300 and 500 free books from Books Are Wings
· A table from Gloria Gemma
· DJ, Raffles, Refreshments, Free Giveaways, and More!
RI Department of Health, Gloria Gemma Foundation, American Heart Association, American Cancer Society, Neighborhood Health Plan, Tufts Health Plan, Hope Health, and Delta Dental will all be in present to provide information to families in attendance.
