PAWTUCKET, RI ~ The City of Pawtucket, Division of Senior Services, Leon Mathieu Senior Center is sponsoring its annual Senior Health Fair on Wednesday, May 8, 2019 from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. The Health Fair is planned in celebration of the month of May being Older Americans Month. It will be held at the Senior Center’s location at 420 Main Street, Pawtucket.
According to Mary Lou Moran, Director of the Senior Center, “This event will provide seniors with comprehensive information on a variety of health topics from proper nutrition to therapeutic massage, and healthy aging tips. Do not miss out on this opportunity to gather a great deal of information provided by health care professionals all under one roof.”
A variety of free screenings and workshops will be available including: vascular & blood glucose screenings, oral cancer screenings, nutrition awareness and education, blood pressure checks, derma scan screenings, chair massage therapy, bone density screenings, fall risk assessments and mobility equipment reviews, aromatherapy, vision health information, meditation classes, Reiki treatments, and much more. The Gloria Gemma Breast Cancer Resource Foundation’s Hope Bus will also be on hand for attendees to visit. The health fair will also receive a special visit from NBC 10 Anchorwoman Alison Bologna.
All adults 55 and older are invited to attend the Health Fair free of charge. The building is handicapped accessible.
