No. 12 Men’s Water Polo’s Renken Earns CWPA Rookie of the Week

BRIDGEPORT, Pa. – No. 12 Brown University men's water polo freshman goalkeeper Will Renken has earned CWPA Northern Division Rookie of the Week honors, the Collegiate Water Polo Association announced on Thursday.

A native of South Pasadena, Calif., Renken made 10 saves in his only start of the week as Brown beat Iona, 11-7, on Saturday helping the Bears improve to 4-0 in CWPA Northern Division play. He did not allow the Gaels to score more than two goals in any one quarter.

For the season, the South Pasadena High School product has totaled 52 saves. He garnered CWPA weekly honors for the first time in his career with the accolades.

Renken and the Bears (10-3, 4-0 CWPA) enjoy a weekend off from competition before returning to action with a trio of CWPA Northern Division games vs. Connecticut College (Oct. 9, 7:30 p.m.), MIT (Oct. 10, noon), and Harvard (Oct. 11, 6 p.m.).
