PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Bryant collected 14
hits and scored 15 runs en route to a 15-3 victory over the Brown
baseball team in Tuesday afternoon's non-conference matchup at Murray
Stadium.
Brown (12-23) registered 10 hits in the seven-inning game, while the Bulldogs improved to 29-7 on the season.
Garrison Banas limited the Bears to five hits over four scoreless frames to pick up the victory, while Robbie Stephens (Lexington, Ky.) took the loss for the home team. Rob Henry (Cranston, R.I.), Kevin Guthrie (Sarasota, Fla.), Brian Ginsberg (Calabasas, Calif.) and Mark Sluys (Gig Harbor, Wash.) had two hits apiece to lead the Brown offense.
Bryant opened up the scoring with six
runs on five hits in the second inning, including a three-run home run
from Zach Wood. The Bulldogs added another big inning in the fourth
frame when the visitors scored nine runs on six hits and took advantage
of four walks for the 15-run advantage.
Brown jumped on the board in the fifth when Marc Sredojevic (Mendham, N.J.) drove in Jake Levine (Newton, Mass.) on a fielder's choice.
The Bears tacked on two more runs in the seventh when Ginsberg hit an RBI double to left center before Sluys sent in Tim McKeithan (Arden, N.C.) on a single through the right side.
Brown will play host to Yale in a
doubleheader on Friday in the home finale and senior day at Murray
Stadium. First pitcher is set for noon.
