Trinity Men's Tennis Sweeps Doubles On Its Way To Win At Brandeis

Waltham, Mass. -The visiting Trinity College Bantams swept the doubles points and held on for a 6-3 victory against the Brandeis University Judges in men's tennis action this afternoon.  Trinity improves to 6-5 and snaps a two-game losing skid, while the No. 23-ranked Judges fall to 8-7 with their fourth consecutive setback.

Trinity came out on top in all three doubles matches, all by close margins, including a 8-6 victory by juniors William Boyd (Hillsborough, Calif.) and Rutendo Matingo (Weston, Mass.) in the No. 3 match.  Bantam senior tri-captain Ford Traff (Wayzata, Minn.) and sophomore Rex Glickman (Chappaqua, N.Y.) won, 8-5, in the top doubles match, and both pulled out singles wins in three sets.  Glickman won his first set, 6-4, at No. 1 singles, lost the second, 6-3, but came back to take the third by the same score.  Traff lost his first set at second singles, but rallied to take the second set, 6-2, and the third, 6-1.  Bantam senior Carlos Ferreyros (Lima, Peru) also won a three-setter, 6-4, 2-6, 6-3, at the sixth singles position, and teamed with senior tri-captain Camden Smith (Dedham, Mass.) for a 8-5 triumph at second singles.
