REDLANDS, Calif. — The Roger Williams University Women's Lacrosse team dropped its first contest of 2019, falling 15-21 to the University of Redlands in a high-scoring affair.

Lauren Flahive (Foxborough, Mass.) began things with a goal at the 26:28 mark for the Hawks. Redlands' Hanna Morford came back with a pair of goals two minutes later to give the home squad the lead. After Devon Sarazin (Falmouth, Maine) and Sydney Louie traded goals for both teams, Roger Williams went on a 4-0 run to take a 6-3 lead with 14:33 left in the first half.

Louie ended the Hawk run with a goal, but Flahive and Shayne Rivard (Easton, Conn.) combined for three goals to put RWU up 9-4 with just over five minutes left in the half. Isabella Blessington (Harpswell, Maine) tallied the final goal of the period to held RWU go into halftime with a 10-5 lead.

Ashley Warren (Wilmington, Mass.) kicked off the second half with her first score of the game, extending RWU's lead 37 seconds into the period. Unfortunately for Roger Williams, the Hawks would be held scoreless over the next ten minutes while Redlands rolled off eight unanswered goals to turn a five-goal deficit into a three-goal lead.
